Introduction to Apple M1 SoC
In November 2020 Apple inaugurated its first ARMv8 A64 64bit Architecture based Multi-Processor System on Chip Called Apple M1. The aforementioned is the first age chip for Apple Mac. The unified memory provides a single location to access data and that can be accessible by CPU as well as all other chips component such as GPU, Thunderbolt controller, and other components. And In this SoC memories are closer to the other component. So it is just faster than our regular Random Access Memory.
Apple uses an octa-core 3.2GHz clock speed Central Processing Unit for High Performance including High Power Efficiency. Here they use hybrid big. LITTLE core architecture. So the first four firestorm core work when performing a heavyweight task so energy loss is high and Performance is also high. An extra four icestorm core CPU works when performing lightweight tasks. so energy consumption is low also performance is low.
Typically, only Firestorm cores or Icestorm cores work at a moment. Compared to x86 architecture the ARM architecture has more excellent performance per watt. The firestorm cores hold 192 KB of L1 instruction cache also 128 KB of L1 data cache and share a 12 MB L2 cache. The icestorm cores possess a 128 KB L1 instruction cache, 64 KB L1 data cache, and a shared 4 MB L2 cache.
Apple M1 created to work under 15-watt power. Due to the quiet energy density M1 chip generates low heat. However, this low heat also influences the chip components because of the small rooms designated for the chip. Apple uses aluminum heat spread to control the temperature. Simply when the M1 chip gets very much heat, Apple uses some set of instructions to run the M1 chip slower until the heat becomes low. That the reason Apple MacBook Air and MacBook Pro do not charge when getting more heat. Apple M1 uses the Octa-core Graphical Processing Unit. And use 16 core neural processing unit known as a Neural Engine.
Compared with other MacBook designs the M1 chips defeated more energy consumption through the four icestorm efficiency cores. When we perform a low weight task, it automatically activates the icestorm core to overcome Performance and energy consumption. Also, this chip designed all components closer, so processes are quicker and energy waste also low for the process. In another way, the M1 chip is a redesign of the A14 iPhone and iPad Chip as like 5nm. So we can guess it has a low consumption of energy.

The GeekBench 5 Standard the total performance of your device. In GeekBench 5, a High Score is a More satisfying score. On the GeekBench 5 64 bit, Apple M1 got 1744 in single-core while Intel core i9-9900k chip scored 1342 in single-core. And Multicore performance Apple M1 obtained 7676 that Intel core i9-9900k counted 8779.
CineBench R23 is a cross-platform software to estimate Hardware performance. On the CineBench R23 64 bit, Apple M1 got 1514 in single-core while Intel core i9-9900k chip obtained 1284 in single-core. And Multicore performance Apple M1 scored 7760 that Intel core i9-9900k got 12450.
iGPU Measure the integrated Graphics performance. On the CineBench R23 64 bit, Apple M1 got 2600 in single-core while Intel core i9-9900k chip scored 461 in single-core.
